How do I get to Camiguin?
Most visitors fly into Camiguin Airport or arrive by ferry. Boats run from Balingoan on the Mindanao mainland to Benoni port, a crossing of roughly two hours, and there is also a ferry link from Jagna on Bohol. From Benoni it is a short road transfer to Mambajao and the beach areas.
What is White Island and how do I visit it?
White Island is an uninhabited sandbar off the coast near Agoho and Yumbing, west of Mambajao. There are no buildings or shade on it, so most people go early in the morning by outrigger boat, bring water and sun protection, and return before midday. Boatmen operate the short crossing from the Agoho beachfront.
When is the best time to visit Camiguin?
The drier months generally run from around late winter into spring, which suits island-hopping and diving. The Lanzones Festival, celebrating the local fruit, takes place in the third week of October and is the island's busiest and most festive period, so book accommodation well ahead if you plan to travel then.
Is Camiguin good for diving and snorkelling?
Yes. The island has reefs and marine sanctuaries, including the waters around Mantigue Island reached from Mahinog, and the underwater setting near the Sunken Cemetery. Conditions and operators vary, so confirm current dive arrangements locally before you commit.
